It has been suggested that there are several versions with Detroit USA in white & copper as well as Detroit USA in larger type.

     
1927

 

White with copper letters.  If it has USA at the bottom then the car was exported.

Copper/Bronze with a dull Brown finish.  White letters.  The 2nd series Export model said USA

According to Geoff Clark, this example has been restored.  Originally, an acid was used to turn them brown and seal it from oxidizing.  In this restoration, the acid wasn't reapplied.

This is the Australian version.

    Looks the same as 1929 but made with a steel housing.

Plain Chrome Design

The interior finishes were nickel and the exterior were chrome.  This one off my car has an authentic "patina" but is nickel.  Note the original choke knob and electrolock switch.  From what I've been told so far, this is how it should appear.

Since gauges get replaced over time, if anyone has a true original and can confirm what the gauges should look liken that would be greatly appreciated.
